FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION

FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction. It is an advanced, minimally invasive hair transplant method that allows for the harvesting of individual follicles from the back of the head (donor area) without a scalpel or stitches.

It is important to note that Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is different than Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT/Strip) which involves using a scalpel to removel of a sliver of tissue from the donor region on the back and sides of the scalp followed by microscopic dissection of the individual follicular units from the strip. After FUT is complete, the wound edges are closed leaving a fine scar.

Lansing Hair Restoration only offers FUE utilizing the NeoGraft micrograft hair transplant procedure which does not require a scalpel. Instead, it utilizes an automated handpiece, which gives patients little to no discomfort during the hair transplant procedure
